Hey. I could not think this file was taken by user because from exif info (author:Hetzark Segundo Wala kang jowa!; Copyright holder:(C)Hetzark Segundo 2020-SAGRA Aviation Photography). Why you think it is uploaer's own work? (^・ェ・^) (talk) 00:52, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Username is the same as the copyright and isn't a brand new account, it has uploaded photos before and if he uploaded photos under a false name he would most likely just mass copyvio upload. This seems to be a photographer uploading select own work photos to Commons. --CutlassCiera 00:54, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
username not exactly the same as exif author name. But combined with the previous photos, I believe that it is indeed the work of the uploader. (^・ェ・^) (talk) 01:01, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Cutlass, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:

  • Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
  • Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
  • Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.

Autopatrol given

[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. rubin16 (talk) 05:39, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I still exist, just not with time for Wikipedia like I used to have. I do still see unusual cars periodically; the difference is just that I don't go around with my camera at all times as a primary hobby. That's the main trick: lots and lots of time! @IFCAR: Wow, awesome to see the legend is still here! CutlassCiera 16:24, 23 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

NARA TIF files

[edit]

Hello Cutlass,

NARA TIF files

Just an FYI re your categorization of this file: for files from NARA that have identical JPG (for article use) and TIF (lossless version for editing), only the JPG needs to be categorized. (See Category:NARA TIF images with categorized JPGs). This is per Fæ (see file history) and Pi.1415926535 for example. This avoids needless duplication of files in categories. Regards, Krok6kola (talk) 15:51, 11 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I know, that is why I reverted my edit right after publishing it. CutlassCiera 16:45, 11 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Casio F-91 W Fake or not.

[edit]

Hi. User:Cutlass You are very vigilant. My Casio F-91W has the "U". It's so small I thought it was a scratch on the screen and touched it up. I'll probably swap out the photo. A "U" is actually visible under the magnifying glass.

I only have the watch out of sentimentality, without reading glasses I can't see the watch displays at all. Thanks.

Stop reverting back to an inferior version of Typhoon Rita

[edit]

Could you please stop reverting back to an inferior version of File:Typhoon Rita 10-22.png we’ve had to remove your reverts multiple times at this point and it’s pretty much vandalism. Titiuss (talk) 00:21, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

You're a sock. Please stop socking. Thanks. CutlassCiera 13:28, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Mustang II? Not really.

[edit]

The Ford Mustang in this photo is not a Mustang II. It's actually a Mustang I from the late-1960's, I'd say either 1967 or 1968. --DanTD (talk) 22:38, 25 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

My car identification skills were quite poor at the time, so I definitely made mistakes. Thanks for the clarification! CutlassCiera 01:02, 26 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Welcome, Dear Patroller!

Counter Vandalism Unit

Hi Cutlass,

You now have the Patroller right and may call yourself a patroller! Please take a moment to read the updated Commons:Patrol to learn how Patrolling works and how we use it to fight vandalism.

As you know already, the patrolling functionality is enabled for all edits, not just for new-page creations. This enables us to keep track of, for example, edits made by anonymous users here on Commons.

We could use your help at the Counter Vandalism Unit. For example by patrolling an Anonymous-edits checklist and checking a day-part.

If you have any questions please leave a message on the CVU talkpage or ask for help on IRC in #wikimedia-commons. Abzeronow (talk) 16:59, 19 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Rollback right given

[edit]

I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Commons:Rollback. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. Abzeronow (talk) 21:59, 9 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Information on temporary account IP viewer rights

[edit]

Hello Cutlass,

On November 12, temporary accounts will be enabled on Commons. The IP of unregistered users will then be hidden for most users. You, as a patroller or license reviewer, are eligible to request the new temporary account IP viewer right, if you need it to continue fighting vandalism and abuse on Commons. If you want to request the right, please file the request here. Please be aware that you also have to accept the Wikimedia Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy in your preferences. For more information about temporary accounts, look at the project page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:34, 7 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Temporary account IP viewer granted

The temporary account IP viewer logo, composed of the Commons logo with a user and an IP address

Hello, Cutlass. Per your request, your account has been granted temporary-account-viewer rights. You are now able to reveal the IP addresses of individuals using temporary accounts that are not visible to the general public. This is very sensitive information that is only to be used to aid in anti-abuse workflows. Please take a moment to review Commons:Temporary account IP viewer for more information on this user right. It is important to remember:

  • You must not share IP address data with someone who does not have the same access permissions unless disclosure is permissible as per guidelines listed at Foundation:Policy:Wikimedia Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy.
  • Access must not be used for political control, to apply pressure on editors, or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to investigate a temporary user. Note that using multiple temporary accounts is not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of policies (for example, block or ban evasion).

It is also important to note that the following actions are logged for others to see:

  • When a user accepts the preference that enables or disables IP reveal for their account.
  • Revealing an IP address of a temporary account.
  • Listing the temporary accounts that are associated with one or more IP addresses (using the CIDR notation format).

Remember, even if a user is violating policy, avoid revealing personal information if possible. Use temporary account usernames rather than disclosing IP addresses directly, or give information such as same network/not same network or similar. If you do not want the user right anymore then please ask me or another administrator and it will be removed for you. You may also voluntarily give up access at any time by visiting Special:Preferences. Happy editing! GPSLeo (talk) 19:28, 9 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
